Brainstorm other ideas of unique and interesting objects.
Create a word bank for words students might need.
Whole class discussion on linking items that relate (shape, purpose, material) -a napkin that is a carpet, a banana that is a hammock. Students will create their own “______ that is a _____”and illustrate it. Students can write a few words that describe it. How it works. What it does. Students can use a co-created word bank/box or personal dictionary or anchor charts.
Individual assessment can be done anecdotally for marker/chosen students.
